Global payments technology provider Verifone unveiled a solution that will enable convenience retailers and truck stops to accept WEX and other commercial fleet cards through a single point-of-sale integration.

Previously, operators needed separate hardware and POS systems for different fleet networks, Verifone said in a Monday (Oct. 13) press release.

Verifone’s new Commander Fleet solution will be rolled out in North America, according to the release.

By consolidating fleet card acceptance into one POS system, the solution will lower the total cost of ownership by eliminating duplicate hardware, licenses and service contracts, according to the release.

Commander Fleet will also improve operational efficiency and throughput by reducing toggling and checkout friction, reduce the amount of time required for employee training, and provide unified reporting and actionable insights, per the release.

“Commander Fleet gives retailers a seamless, cost-effective way to manage commercial fleet transactions,” James Hervey, executive vice president, head of Petro at Verifone, said in the release. “By partnering with WEX and other leading providers of commercial fleet products, we’re cutting complexity, lowering costs and creating a smoother experience for both operators and drivers.”
